Children need time and practice if they are to develop handwriting that is neat, fluent, legible, and fast. In particular, they need to practice letter shapes and the joining of letters so that the hand movements become automatic. The Star Everything About Handwriting series books are fully compatible with the handwriting schemes most commonly used in schools. They support, consolidate, and reinforce learning, providing extra opportunities for focused practice at school or at home. The simple structure and format of the books make them easily accessible, enabling all children to work independently if necessary—though support from a teacher or an adult helper is always beneficial.

Key features of this series include:

• The correct handwriting movements become so natural to children that they are transferred into everyday writing.
• Taking care with handwriting encourages children to take pride in all their work, right across the curriculum.
• Intensive copying and revision activities, based on carefully graded texts.
• FOCUS points for teachers and adult helpers, at the foot of each page—summarizing learning objectives and common pitfalls.
